On the learning platform I have architected, with many hundreds of films and practices, possibly my favorite seven minutes of film in the archive entire, word for word, gesture for gesture, is of John Stokes, the Founder of The Tracking Project, speaking about gratitude.
In the film, he is standing at the Haiku Aina Permaculture Initiative, on the island of Maui, wearing a sleeveless surf shirt, his weathered muscular arms pliant and articulate as he speaks through them. In the background is the yellow of bamboo and the emerald lushness of the island. Periodically, a myna bird calls, or an errant rooster.
