As some of you possibly know, I stepped down as CEO of our software company in August. I had spent more than five years working full-time on the clinical software project we initiated in 2020 just before COVID-19, we failed to achieve a meaningful product-market fit after fourteen versions, we had spent a huge amount of time and money on this, and I needed to move on.
Since that time I have refocused my attention on running our research division (we have already produced three white papers and a poster), opened the Autonomics Clinic, refocused on teaching and writing, and am preparing Jaguar (our literary imprint) for the translation of works into other languages (our first translations, into Dutch and Italian, will be coming next summer).
It has become obvious to our team with some time and distance that the future of the software will depend on access to outside capital (we are not putting any more money into this), and building a new operating team.
On November 1, 2025, (tomorrow) we will remove the Autonomic Compass (our clinical software) from all customer-facing websites.
It will go back into stealth mode until such time as we either
Shut it down,
Sell it, or
Find a new operating team to transform & commercialize it
Or do something else that is not obvious to us yet
If you would like to utilize the software for healing, you can learn more about it here:
Memberships created prior to November 1, 2025 will continue uninterrupted after the software returns to stealth mode. Once people begin using it, they rarely turn it off (our churn is quite low), because it is very useful. The platform has a unique autonomic diagnostics tool on the front-end, which you can test here:
It is designed to help you understand present moment autonomic state, and then remediate it if necessary (or grow it if health-creating). This diagnostics tool is connected to a database of nearly 400 films, frameworks, and practices (if you have a membership, they will be accessible.) You can ask it, for example, to give you an intervention useful for dealing with a flight response that you can do outside, in water, with your feet.
It costs $59 per month, and is billed as a monthly subscription. You can cancel anytime, but we do not offer pro-rated refunds, which means that once it has billed for that month you will be billed for the full month even if you cancel part way through it.
I have been told by a number of people that they think the product is a decade ahead of its time, which is probably a compliment, but does not solve the fundamental business problem. I wish people were a decade more sophisticated in their understanding of the role of autonomic physiology in the creation of wellbeing.
We are giving people a head’s up about this in all of our audience contexts in case you are interested in subscribing before we hibernate the clinical software.
Warmly,
Gabriel
