When I’m not teaching, or writing, for the past six years I’ve been the principal architect of an autonomically-centered healing platform, which is now called The Autonomic Compass. For many years it was focused on empowering wellness professionals to achieve superior clinical outcomes with their patients and clients by refining their ability to work autonomically. While it still does this extremely well, we have simplified it with new material from The Neurobiology of Connection, and have made the diagnostics tools straightforward enough to be used directly by people for self-healing.
The platform contains a set of autonomics diagnostic tools and a library of nearly 400 educational films and practices, many of which we filmed in 4K in the forest. It understands the relationships between all of these practices, and how they align with various autonomic states.
Since attention is derivative of autonomic state, it helps lead people to restorative practices that support the needs of their deep nervous systems. It is a treasure trove of information and transformational teaching, through which you can move at your own speed, and which organizes around your intuition. There is, to our knowledge, nothing quite like it in the world.
It contains teachings from a number of the world’s leading experts on connection and wellbeing and a number of Indigenous Elders.
It can be used to
Support individual wellbeing
Provide contextualizing educational resources to enhance wellness work and coaching
Provide scaffolding pedagogy for courses
Tailor specific restorative practices based on Autonomics
Find the intersection of symptoms with a broad range of restorative practices
At present it contains about 50 educational films, 35 frameworks, and 300 restorative practices. There is a complex set of filters you can use to narrow the search criteria, so that if you are looking for a practice that you can do outside, with your feet, to address anxiety, you can find that…
We have recently added a beautiful interactive diagnostic tool to the front end. You can learn more and watch us demo that here:
