Hearth Science and The Restorative Practices Alliance have just launched The Neurobiology of Connection.

This is a serialized digital archive of the chapters of our forthcoming book of the same name, arriving in hardcover April 17, 2024 from our literary imprint, Jaguar.

The book synthesizes 15 years of our original research and cutting-edge clinical work (crowdsourced with 5,000 wellness professionals from more than 25 disciplines of healing and tested with well over 10,000 clients) into an autonomically-informed approach to the creation of enduring wellbeing.

In the book, we will take you on a journey through several million years of the lineage history of hominids, explaining how our ancestral baseline in small band hunter gatherer groups informed the neurobiological architecture of our bodies and nervous systems, and how our nervous systems are wired for safety and connection.

We will walk you through a series of doorways, from safety to connection, from connection to interoception, from interoception to non-cognitive ways of knowing, helping you to open 13 neurophysiological portals of relatedness in the body. As you begin to open these portals, you may experience greater kinship with all of life, the doorway to enduring wellbeing.

We will explain to you how wellbeing is a verb, a practice, and how we can create the conditions for it to arise by bringing our nervous system into the felt detection of safety and activating the neurobiology of connection.
