Hi Everybody-
One of the most gratifying aspects of developing The Neurobiology of Connection within a community of engaged readers has been the extraordinarily useful feedback that we have received on the text. As you may or may not be aware, the publication of this book is the culmination of about thirty years of trans-disciplinary translation research in autonomic physiology, supported by about a hundred different mentors of ours in 25 disciplines of wellbeing from 24 cultures. (You are likely familiar with some of these mentors, including Vincent Felitti, MD, Stephen Porges, PhD, Darcia Narvaez, PhD, Nadine Burke Harris, MD MPH FAAP, Tabatha Parker, ND, Mary Watkins, PhD, Tiokasin Ghosthorse, Ilarion Merculieff, Lee Mun Wah, etc.) While the book is meant to be an accessible point of entry into this work, it is built on very rigorous science, and a very large clinical data set (we have field-tested our autonomics model with over 15,000 people internationally).
On July 1 we stopped producing the Official Polyvagal Poster that I created under the supervision of Dr. Stephen Porges, because we no longer believe that the Polyvagal model is accurate. We are now finalizing the visual design of the poster that will replace it, and I would like to invite your feedback.
Please let me know what you think of the below. All feedback is welcome– from endorsements to constructive criticism. Let me know if you find any of the text awkward, any of the images improvable. I would be most grateful to know of any typos, misalignments, etc.
I would be grateful to know whether you feel that, without knowing more about the autonomic nervous system than this poster is telling you, you would feel like you had a handle on what was going on.
We envision these posters in clinical and educational settings.
Thanks in advance.
